“I want to thank you for the job you did on binding my dad's Bible. At first I thought $100 was too high for me, but the binding is wonderful & makes this Bible appear as new... I have missed this Bible because it has thoughtful footnotes.
It is wonderful to turn to a book in my Bible without the pages always falling out. Thank you.”

Repair & Restoration
Labor rate of $100/hour
Each job is unique, but there are some common themes. The most common price range for repairs is $100 to $175.
Each book requires a physical examination to determine an exact quote.
$100 to $145 is the most common price range.
This would be a likely price range for books with these conditions:
the pages are still bound together but the cover needs repair, or we make a new, simple cloth cover
the only loose pages are at the very front or very back, and the cover needs repair
the pages are loose but can be rebound by machine and reusing the cover as-is. As well, the cover may need a little repair - or a new, simple cloth cover
$175 to $250 is a likely price range for many books, although a little less common
This would be a likely price range if:
you want to keep as much of the original as possible. There would be some moderate cosmetic differences after repair
the cover is in ok shape, but the paper needs some preparation before rebinding. This would be patching tears/holes or ironing wrinkled pages
the book requires a little hand sewing to rebind loose pages which need a small amount of patching
$200 to $350 is a price range seen often, but not as common as those above
This price range is often for books where:
the pages need a lot of patching and preparation, and the cover needs repair
the book is extra large or thick. This requires either special handling, or there is more material which needs work
there are special circumstances which need special handling. (e.g. fractured pages which need reassembling like a jigsaw puzzle, the book is split in half and requires hand sewing, etc.)

Rush Charges
Work done in less than 14 calendar days is considered rush
Rush pricing scales based on how quickly you want the work done. The cost of rush work is only tied to the labor price and does not include shipping or material costs. (e.g. custom stamping die, special order cloth)
+ 30% - 10 to 13 calendar days
+ 60% - 6 to 9 calendar days
+100% - 2 to 5 calendar days (a minimum of 2 working days required)
Box Making
$50 Minimum order charge for one item
Slipcases are simple, 5-sided boxes which reveal the spine of the book inside.
$45 to $65 per slipcase for orders of 2 or more. Final pricing depends on:
size
materials used
if you want to line the interior
Clamshell boxes are a more protective option. A clamshell box can accommodate more than one book, and the sizes of each book can be different from each other.
We base pricing on size. Add together the height, width and thickness (depth) of your book and multiply the total by 4.5. This will provide you with a ballpark estimate. For example, a book measuring 8.5(w) X 11(h) X 1.25(d)
8.5+11+1.25 = 20.75
20.75 X 4.5 = $93.38
Many factors can alter the price of a clamshell box (materials used, complexity, etc.). The calculation above provides a general idea of the cost for an average clamshell box. Please contact us with your ideas and we will work with you to determine accurate pricing.
